13. Measurement of Total Head
|
|
Pump Total Head = (Pd/w - Ps/w)+(V2d/2g – V2s/2g)+(Z2-Z1), where
|
Pd= discharge pressure |
|
|
Ps = suction pressure |
|
((V2d/2g – V2s/2g)= Difference in velocity head between the pressure measuring points at the suction and discharge |
|
Z2-Z1 = elevation head (correction for the difference in the centerlines of suction & delivery gauges) |
|

14. Translation of Test Data |
|
Speed of rotation recorded for each test point usually differs from the specified speed of rotation. Affinity laws will be used for translating the test result into data based on the specified speed of rotation
